Each Spring, Rob Reeder and Scott Loughner put on a day-long course that covers the essential aspects of Fly Fishing. The course is open to the public and free (thanks to generous support from PWWTU). Lunch is included. The course is well-attended, as the pictures below demonstrate. Course Outline
Introduction: Trout Unlimited, instructors’ background
Equipment: rods, reels, fly lines, tippets, vests, wading staffs etc
Knots: basic knots including Surgeon’s and Clinch
Flies: entomology and fly selection
Reading the water: finding fish and casting to them
Casting demonstration and practice: outside if weather permits
