SUMMARY:Penn's Woods West Chapter Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The meetings are open to the public\, and Chapter Members are encouraged to attend. \nJoin us Monday\, October 9 for this month’s chapter meeting. In Eric’s words:I have been a teacher for 26 years\, and I currently teach U.S. History at the Fox Chapel Area School District.  I dabbled with fishing as a kid\, but when I was in 9th grade\, I won my first Orvis fly rod outfit at the annual banquet of the Ken Sink Chapter of Trout Unlimited. I still treasure it\, and I will forever be grateful to TU for that rod and reel. I learned a lot about fly fishing and trout with that rod in my hand\, but learned even more thanks to Nick Cobler’s dad\, Dwight. He took us on trips to camp\, he always made sure we had a box of flies\, and he helped to foster a love of fly fishing on the banks of the Sinnemahoning creek. In the years that followed\, more serious fly fishing\, fly tying and rod building followed. I really enjoy being outdoors\, and when I am not fishing and tying\, I love time with my wife\, Carrie and two sons\, Gunnar and Grant. I also serve as the treasurer of the Allison Park Sportsman Club\, and really enjoy bird hunting with my English Setter Winston.  \nEric will discuss how to get there and where to fish\, as well as the great opportunities that North and Northwest Arkansas have to offer to anglers and outdoor enthusiasts. \nSee you there!

SUMMARY:Outdoors Adventure Outing to Spring Creek
DESCRIPTION:Spring Creek\nArriving June 1st\, leaving June 6th. \nThe Trout Unlimited Adventure’s committee will host an outing to Spring Creek\, near State College.  We will stay at Bald Eagle State Park\, the Russel P. Letterman Campground.  For myself\, I have reserved site no. 32 in the Oak circle.  Near me\, sites 28\, 30 and 33 (Oak circle) are available.  All sites can accommodate more than one camp.  All sites have electricity and are long enough for trailers as well as tents. \nOn Saturday night there will be a barbecue with meat provided by TU.  For those attending the barbecue\, it would be appreciated if you could contribute an appetizer\, side dish\, salad\, or dessert for the group.  So bring a chair and join in around the campfire for food and lively conversation. \nThe area around State College and Bellefonte is well know for its fishing opportunities so you will have a variety of choices on where to spend your day.\nAndy\nCampfire451@gmail. SUMMARY:September Chapter Meeting
DESCRIPTION:John Hayes will be our speaker for the September\, 2022 Chapter Meeting.  The meeting will be held in the Barn at Christ Church at Grove Farm just off the Mt. Nebo exit of I-79.  Hope you can join the fun. \nPA Fish and Boat has proposed tighter control of private stocking because of concerns about disease and possible introduction of invasive species. This will certainly impact the activities of some clubs in the commonwealth who currently raise\, release and catch stocked fish outside of the State’s purview. Mr. Hayes will review the current proposal and focus on possible positive and negative effects.
