Ever wonder what the squiggly line rising from a cup of coffee in the comics is called? (answer: “indotherm”) or the beads of sweat flying off a distressed character’s head (answer: “pleweds”). The attached article will be of interest to fans of the comics and of language, since most of the words are unknown outside […]
Treasurer Ed Barger has released the “FY-20” Financial Statements which actually cover an 18-month period due to Trout Unlimited’s change in fiscal year. Our Financial Reviewer, Walter Reineman, has reviewed the detailed list of transactions for the period as well as the statements. He found no irregularities. Walter and Ed are to be commended for […]

OK, I challenged you to take a stream walk in order to become familiar with a local stream and to pick up trash. Just you and your immediate family, not a large group. Well, I decided to put on my boots and explore the tiny tributary to Saw Mill Run that starts a hundred yards […]

Given that the virus has provided way too much free time, why not get out of doors and do some good for the Chapter at the same time? Gather your family and tell them: “Hey, it’s an adventure that requires boots and gloves”. Pick a stream near home that has public access, maybe even aquatic […]

Expand your Horizons
Think outside the box of PWWTU. There are 400 plus Chapters of Trout Unlimited in the country. We have a ton of members (over 1,000) but few cold-water streams supporting trout. Why not wind up the computer (or pick up the phone) and contact a TU chapter from the surrounding area to see what they’re up to and how you might be able to help. Click Here .SW PA TU Chapters for a spreadsheet of likely SW and NW PA Chapters, their websites, and a contact. What’s to lose? You might even get introduced to a stream full of brookies that you didn’t know about.

Women and Diversity
Calling all Ladies!!!
We have a group just for you!!!
“Women’s Outreach” for PWWTU. This new group was created so that we, as a local organization, can better listen to and serve the needs of female anglers.
Our aim is to partner with female anglers who: want to fish together, learn more about the sport, support each other’s fishing growth and have fun! As women – we have the ability to become some of the best anglers – and our chapter wants to support that growth!
If this group interests you or you have any questions – please contact Jodie Minor or Nora Cline at [email protected]
